Immigration activists hope 2010 will be a different story. In an effort to build momentum for immigration reform, Representative Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) introduced the Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America's Security and Prosperity Act of 2009 (CIR ASAP) December 15, 2009.[1]The introduction of CIR ASAP represents the first major immigration legislation to be proposed in Congress since 2007.[2] Among other things, the bill would provide a legalization process for millions of illegal immigrants, prohibit local law enforcement from enforcing federal immigration laws, improve detention center conditions, and institute certain border security reform.[3] Read the rest of this entry »

In general, if you are stopped or arrested, be respectful. Police have a difficult job and are generally deserving of our respect, but what is more important, if you are respectful, the officer may be more likely to leave you alone.

I would like to talk a little about automobile insurance in Wisconsin. For years, Wisconsin has been one of the few states not to require that every driver be insured. That is about to change.
